It’s hard to find the right pair of jeans for a few reasons. For example, most of the time they don’t fit or they are baggy, or they lose their shape. Overall, it is just a headache finding the right pair! I have tried so many different brands and styles. However, don’t worry, I got some answers for you! I have found some that I love. Here is what I look for when I’m looking for a pair of jeans.
Where to Start
There are a few things to consider when it comes to finding a good pair of curvy style jeans. For instance, consider the rise (waist style) and the amount of stretch. Both of these features can make or break how a pair looks on curves. Additionally, consider the wash (color) and the style. Alright, let’s dive in!
Levis – All of the pairs featured here are from Levis! They have been my go to for the last few months. I am wearing a size 33 in all of these.
1. Mid to High with Some Stretch Please
First, opt for a high waisted to mid rise fit. We do not, I repeat, do not go with low rise jeans. I wasn’t a fan of low rise when it came around the first time. Not sure who invited them back to the party but it is a hard no. Here is why – low rise isn’t going to hit you at the smallest part of the waist. In contrast, mid to high rise will meet you right at your waist. This will result in a nice silhouette as a result. Additionally, it won’t fall down when you sit down! Win-win.
Avoid low rise if you have curves! I don’t think we need to explain this one!
2. Get a Wash and Style That You Can Wear (Often)
Also, I look for a wash and style that’ll be versatile, and not too trendy. For example, my favorite style that wear all the time are the Levis 720 High Rise in a medium wash. I wear this wash the most! Likewise, get a dark wash as that works great for work.
3. Have Different Pairs for Different Situations
Lastly, you want to have a few pairs for a different situations.
Basic Pair. Get a pair of “go to” jeans that can be dressed up or down. This pair can be worn the weekend and for work. For instance, I like a skinny high rise fit. This works for most situations.
On Trend Pair. Additionally, I like to have a pair that are just really a fun style. For example, a pair of flare jeans. It could be a little on trend with something fun. Likewise, these are excellent for the weekend and boot season.
Black Pair – The Black Pants Hack. Also, I think the little hack that people don’t talk about is getting at that black pair of jeans that fit really well that are really dark. Solid black with not a lot of design on it so they look like a pair of pants.
