Up until a year ago, I had not even entertained the idea of wearing a velvet dress. I thought it was a little too much for my frame. You can check out my first velvet dress here. Likewise, I thought I wouldn’t find a dress that actually fit and that I would want to wear. Good news: there are dresses that work for curves and that are fun to rock! So, let’s go!
Sizing Tips: I was a size 16 when I bought these. I went with an xl in all three dresses.
A Faux Wrap Style Dress
This dress has the loveliest shape to it! It is a faux style with ruching at the waist. That little detail cinches the dress in at the waist for head-turning silhouette. I felt dynamite in this piece! Check out the video WebStory for this post here.

A Square Neck Bodycon Dress
A square neck is such pretty neckline on nearly every body type. This dress is simple in its cut letting the velvet be the centerpiece. The hemline is a bit shorter so save this for a date night.
A Shirt Dress
This one is the most unique dress of the three. It has ruching that adds structure to cut. I think my favorite part is the color! It is bold and rich. I love it.
