Why I Love Wearing Navy Blue (And You Will Too)

There’s one color that I’ve been into more lately- Navy Blue! It is timeless, versatile, and can give black and run for it’s money. Here are some ways to wear it.

There are certain colors we are drawn to wear. I’ve done posts focused on colors here and here. For me, I sometimes limit myself to whatever colors are available in a store. I have been able to branch out with respect to my color palette since I have been shopping online more. However, there is one color I have recently rediscovered: Navy.

Here are some dresses similar to mine:

What does Navy Blue Symbolize?

Navy is known to convey a certain sense of authority. Similarly, wearing it can give you a boost of confidence.

Additionally, according to a piece in Lifewire Navy can communicate “intelligence, stability, unity, and conservatism”.

Timeless & Classic

Also, you can wear navy blue last year, now, or next year and it would still work! Although I will wear some trends here and there, classic pieces are still good to own. Similar to another dark tone, Black, Navy is sophisticated.

Versatile

This is a color that can worn throughout the seasons. All you have to do is pair it with different colors. For example, I like it with a neutral like a camel color or nude. Likewise, adding something white makes navy pop. Finally, if you are in doubt, just adding it to a denim outfit works too.

Flattering on Different Complexions

It is nice when a color looks good on pretty much everyone. And, you don’t have to worry if it is going to be a color that won’t work for you.

Wardrobe Essentials in Navy Blue

Here are the items you are going to want to have in your closet:

• A Peacoat – This is a classic item you can wear year after year
• Pair of Pants – I think a pair of stretchy pants always work
• A Blazer – I like a nice knit blazer for work and weekend
• A Trench Coat – This is a nice departure from black or khaki
• A Dress – A nice substitute for the usual black dress
