The Mini Skirt

First, let’s review why a mini skirt is a wardrobe staple. For example, you can wear it all year depending on how you style it. Gone are the days that you don’t think you can wear a mini skirt due to your size, age, or lifestyle. In contrast, once you figure out how to style this item, you will wonder why you didn’t get one sooner!

The Trick to Wearing a Mini Skirt

The trick? The trick is to get one that is not too tight or short. That will allow you to wear it dressed up or casually. For instance, you can wear it with a chunky sweater and Over the Knee (OTK) boots as I did here. Conversely, you can pair it with a pretty bodysuit like I did here.

And contrary to what you may think, mini lengths aren’t just appropriate for petite women or those under the age of 25—they can look chic and polished on anyone, provided you know the best tricks to pull them off.

Here’s the formula for this outfit: A loose fitting chunky sweater, slide on a mini skirt, and then anchor it all with OTK boots. Also, add a bold red lip and a quilted purse. Done!
