Pink and Blue: The Pairing You Need to Try

Playing with color is something I am always up for. Pink and Blue is my new unexpected favorite combo. Here is how to rock it.

I’m going go ahead and include lilac with the pink family. Fun fact: lilac is from the purple family with pink in it! Lavender, on the other hand has blue in it.

Heads up, I am a JustFab Partner. However, all opinions are my own folks!

An Unexpected Pairing

Before this post, I didn’t even think about pairing up pink and blue. It was a happy accident.  What gave me the idea was when I saw the dress next to this blue purse. Then I pulled out these shoes as well and BOOM!

It was one of those the-idea-in-my-head-actually-looked-good-in-execution kind of moments. Don’t you love when that happens? Let’s not talk about when it doesn’t….

Why Pink and Blue Work

Second, let’s talk about why these two colors work. Pink and blue are seen opposites. The first thing you think of when I say these colors are a baby girl and a baby boy.

Additionally, what is so wonderful about this match up is that you can play with different tones of each color. You can try a deeper pink with a powder blue. Similarly, you can go with a bold navy blue with a dusty pink. The options are endless!

“Opt for a vibrant royal blue when you want an ensemble that pops. For the softer looks, go for a light powdery shade instead.”

Where to Get Some More Inspiration

Lastly, now that you know about this pairing, here is the cool thing: you can rock this throughout the seasons.

Moreover, I get inspiration for color combinations through Pinterest, of course. Also, you can check out Pantone. Pink and blue were actually the color of the year in 2016. Finally, another spot for color inspo is any home decor site like Apartment Therapy
