Thrifting can provide you with an opportunity to try something different. Once you find a piece you love, then you need to be able to style your thrifted item. Cue this post!

Obviously, I can’t link this dress. But, I did link some of similar classic pieces that I count on to style my thrifted finds!

Spring is the perfect time to play with color and different styles. Thrifting can also be a way to buy a brand that is typically expensive at a lower price. It has been a few months since I started thrifting. What I found is that it can be a low cost way to take fashion risk, get out of your comfort zone and try something new!

…debunk the “I couldn’t pull that off” myth you’ve been telling yourself. It’s time to make new fashion friends and keep the old.

Styling Your Thrifted Find

Now, buying a thrifting item is one thing. Styling that item with what you own is another. The key is to not look like you are wearing something thrifted. Instead, you want it to look interesting and unique.
So, I rounded up some tips that I have learned from thrifting trips these past few months.
The key is to not look like you are wearing something thrifted. Instead, you want it to look interesting and unique.
1. Go with styles that work for you.
You know the styles or cuts that make you feel dynamite? Those are the styles to look for when thrifting. For example, I usually feel pretty good in wrap style dresses. So, I try those styles on when I see them.
2. Layer to make it your own.
Cardigans, denim jackets, blazers and leather jackets are your friends. These pieces will help you style your thrifted find to make it your own. I think this is especially important if you like an item but want coverage for your arms, for instance.

3. Accessorize.
I own a lot of belts! I think a statement necklace or a belt can add visual interest to your thrifted find. I also just like belts for structure.
4. Add some of your classic pieces.
You might already be taking a risk with your thrifted find. So, go with more classic pieces for the rest of the outfit. Think cardigans and nude heels like I did here.
