Trends come and go. Some work for me, some look absolute horrible on me (let’s not talk about me and biker shorts)! At the same time, you never know what trend will work for you. Similarly, fashion should be fun. So, try something new.
I got three questions I ask myself before I “Jump” on or “Dump” a trend. Alright, let’s go!

Question One
Here is the thing, when something feels good, a few things happen. First, you will enjoy wearing it! Second, that means you will wear it often.
Think about your uniform. These are the items and outfits you tend to wear the most. Then, plug in the trendy item you are considering. If you can immediately add it to an outfit- then I say GO FOR IT!
We often buy clothes that remain unworn. So, finding a fun new item that will enjoy wearing is a win!
Here are the trends I tried out and loved that are in this post: puffy sleeves (note: I have broad shoulders. So, this is a trend I can do when the puff isn’t too big. Otherwise I look like a football player), cut out sweater, and neon colors.
Question Two
Second, it is tempting buy something new and say, “I can buy something else to wear with it”. Here’s the problem with that. You probably won’t find that one thing to wear with your new find. So, here is a solution: when there is a trend, make sure it will work with what you already own. Likewise, be sure that it will work with the items you tend to wear the most.
As I mentioned in question one, this will ensure that you will not only wear the item, but that you will wear it often!
"We've exhausted the idea of trends, and so the approach at both designers—while drastically different in appearance—is more about individual items that work into YOUR wardrobe, versus a total look."

Finally, consider what the trend is bringing to the table! In other words, what is it adding to your outfit? Is it adding color, texture or anything else different?
If I am going to try something new, go out of my comfort zone, it might as well be interesting. Remember, fashion should excite you and be enjoyable.
Really think about how much you want to spend on a new trend. I think it is balance between getting something fun while make sure it doesn’t look cheap. So, consider how much you feel comfortable spending. Finally, have fun!
