It’s good to know what you like and what really works for you. There’s one item that usually works for me and I feel dynamite when I wear it.

I started my blog for a few reasons. One was to highlight the connection between clothes and how you feel.

There are certain items that make you look and feel great when you wear them. For me, a midi skirt is one of those items.

There are certain items that make you look and feel great when you wear them.

I probably own more skirts than I do pants. Here’s why:

  1. Comfort- Midi skirts are easy to move in. Since the length is longer, I don’t have to worry about flashing anyone!
  2. Versatility- Being able to wear items in different ways means I buy less clothes (well, in theory, at least). Midi skirts can be worn for work and the weekend. I’m always looking for items that can do double duty.
  3. Perfect Match for Curves- Midi skirts skim and create a clean silhouette. This is perfect for curves, in my opinion. Pay attention to getting the right size to get the fit on point. Once you got that down, this skirt style will look fabulous!

I’m wearing a skirt from Target Mossimo. I’m wearing a size 2xl and you can get it here. Good stuff sells out fast. So I linked some similar ones here and here.

My top is from Target Who What Wear. I’m wearing a size XL and you can get it here. My heels are from DSW and you can get a similar pair here. My purse is from Target Who What Wear and you can get it here.

… Because getting dressed (and living life) should feel good!

  1. I love your style, your confidence, and positive attitude! I am 4’11”, need petite clothing, and am size 16. What clothing pieces and stores would you suggest?

    1. Hi Mary!
First, thanks for the positive feedback! That makes me so happy!
      Ok pieces and stores:
I think you can find some items at Target with their Who What Wear line and a new day. I would go with the tops, cardigans, blazers, and skirts. I think pencil and midi skirts could work for you. Who What Wear usually has some wrap dresses that are pretty flattering. I would belt dresses or look for ones with structure. I think if you do a maxi dress that you want to belt it if it doesn’t have a defined waist. Another place worth checking out would be the Loft. I believe they have petite styles and they recently added plus sizes. That may be a good spot for pants. Lastly, I really like the denim leggings by Hue. I’m a size 14/16 like you and the XL fits great. They are sold on amazon, Nordstrom, and Hue online. I think these denim leggings fit and look great. You could get a Capri length.
Hope this helps & thanks for reading my blog!

      1. Thank you so much Vivan! I’m going to check out the stores you listed. I really appreciate your suggestions!!
